One day as IT-Infrastructure Engineer…
In my first role at the Infrastructure team of twinformatics, the main tasks where to design, operate and maintain the IT basis for the developers, End-Users and other connected interfaces.
Some of the technologies we handled on a daily basis were:
- Windows Server
- Server 2008 R2
- Server 2012
- Server 2016
- Linux Server
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux
- Ubuntu Server

The landscape consisted of 80% Windows Servers and 20% of Unix machines. So in this time I became a professional in the operation of the Microsoft Eco System. The maintenance and further development of more than three hundred Windows servers was in my influence. Nearly all Windows roles were in productive operation and in use of more than seven thousand end users.
While handling the hetero-gene Microsoft landscape I became more curios about different approaches. It didn’t take a long time to come across the penguin. So I took over some Linux Servers in my custody. At that time the mostly unattended Linux machines grew tremendous and almost doubled.
Also the integration and automation had to be handled. So the weapon of choice were Automic (former UC4) to design all kind of, scripts and their automation.
While managing the Systems on a daily technical base ma and my team of 7 IT wizards worked in close cooperation with the data center provider, to further intagrate new services and applications into out landscape.
